DOLPHIN OFFICE CHOICE IMPLEMENTS SUCCESSION PLAN & PASSES THE TORCH TO THE NEXT GENERATION

12 May 2021

Jason Camidge takes the reins at leading NSW dealer.

After 23 years as the managing director of Dolphin Office Choice, Helen Camidge has hung up her boots and has been succeeded by her son Jason Camidge who earlier this year stepped up as the sole owner of the business.

After acquiring the business back in 1999, Helen joined Office Choice with the goal of becoming the biggest regional dealer in the Office Choice family and through persistence and hard work, has grown the organisation to 5 locations across NSW after acquiring several businesses including Star Office Choice (2013), Shaw’s Office National (2014) and North Coast Stationery (2015).

Since joining the group, Dolphin has won the coveted Office Choice Dealer of the Year award in 2014 and 2015 as well as being the first Office Choice recipient of the prestigious “Stationery News” National dealer of the year award and many other industry, trainee and local awards.

Dolphin Office Choice is recognised as a strong and resilient business – having survived some challenging times trading well through the 2007 GFC and floods in 2018 washing away the Lismore shop leaving a trail of destruction (and $100k clean up bill) in its wake. Dolphin is also known for its support of many different charities and runs a successful traineeship program.

Today Dolphin Office Choice has stores located in Ballina, Byron Bay, Casino and Mullumbimby as well as a warehouse and furniture showroom in Lismore.  Dolphin is truly a family business with both of Helen’s sons Jason and Darren having joined her over the years with Jason now taking over the business.

Helen parts with the following message to the wider Office Choice network of dealers – “I would like to thank all of the dealers and supply partners I have met over the years. I am so grateful for your support and encouragement and I wish you every success in running your business particularly during these challenging and difficult times – thank you”.

New owner Jason Camidge says “We wish Helen all the best in her retirement, she is going to take some time to sit around the pool, have coffee with close friends and enjoy her retirement. After 23 years of dedicated service to the community, it is well deserved.”

Office Choice CEO Brad O’Brien says “On behalf of Office Choice, we pass on our sincere thanks to Helen and acknowledge her many years of dedication to the group. We wish her well and look forward to continuing to work with Jason and the Dolphin Office Choice team.”
