Newell Brands reports sales turnaround

Q2 sales growth after four-year slump.
The US parent of Newell Brands Australia has returned to year-on-year sales growth in the second quarter, marking an important milestone in the company’s turnaround.
Net sales rose three per cent to approximately US$2 billion, while core sales increased 2.3 per cent, exceeding the company’s guidance range.
President and CEO Chris Peterson said this marked Newell’s first year-over-year growth in both net sales and core sales in more than four years.
Five of the company’s six business units posted core sales growth, while seven of its 10 largest brands and five of its 10 largest countries recorded year-over-year sales growth.
The US, Newell’s largest market, delivered roughly five per cent net sales growth, its first domestic growth since the COVID period, according to Peterson.
In its writing division, growth reflected distribution gains, product innovation and back-to-school execution.
Newell’s brands include Elmers, Dymo, Rubbermaid, PaperMate, Parker and Sharpie, a favourite of US president Donald Trump.
