Blackwoods rolled into Bunnings

Wesfarmers’ industrial business join forces from 1 July.

Wesfarmers has announced that it will transition its two large industrial businesses into the Bunnings Group to “enhance the customer experience”.

Workwear Group, known for its Hard Yakka and King Gee brands, and safety and workplace supplies distributor Blackwoods will officially join forces on 1 July.

Bunnings managing director Mike Schneider said: “Blackwoods and Workwear Group will continue to operate as standalone businesses and will retain their customer-facing brands within the Bunnings Group, with Blackwoods continuing to service large enterprise customers.”

Wesfarmers chief financial officer Anthony Gianotti added: “We see a significant opportunity to leverage greater scale and capabilities to further enhance the customer experience,” he said.

“Working more closely with Bunnings will also unlock growth in the small and medium sized customer segments,” he said.

Blackwoods has more than 2000 products in its Office & Kitchen range covering stationery, catering, cleaning and office technology. It also has its own brand of office supplies under the name Ebony.
