E-commerce giant continues to expand delivery capabilities.

 

If the US is any guide, Amazon’s extended Prime Day sale has resulted in a 30 per cent increase in e-commerce sales on a year-on-year basis.

 

The Prime Day sale in Australia ends today with hundreds of ‘last minute’ deals, many offering same-day delivery.

 

Earlier this month, Amazon announced that it will open two new delivery stations later this year, including a $7m site currently under construction in Ravenhall, Victoria. 

 

In 2024, Amazon invested more than $5 billion in Australia, including infrastructure and compensation to its employees.

 

In just seven years, the last mile network has created thousands of direct and indirect operational jobs in 12 locations around Australia.
