Office furniture market worth $2.7b

New report reveals impact of changing workplace.
The Australian office furniture market is experiencing steady growth, driven by rising demand for ergonomic and hybrid work solutions, sustainability-focused designs, and the incorporation of smart technologies.
Government policies supporting green procurement and increased awareness of workplace wellness are also fostering innovation and adoption across sectors.
The latest research report by IMARC Group, titled ‘Australia Office Furniture Market Size, Share, Trends and Forecast 2025-2033’, showed the market size reached A$2.7 billion in 2024.
Looking forward, IMARC Group expects the market to reach A$3.8 billion by 2033, exhibiting a growth rate of 3.10 per cent during 2025-2033.
The report reveals that traditional workplaces are being revolutionised by smart furniture with products such as height adjustable desks, in-built charging units, and sensor integrated seating gaining traction.
Smart conference tables with integrated touch screens and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled meeting pods are becoming popular in corporate offices.
Additionally, businesses are integrating home office furniture solutions to support remote work, blurring the lines between office and residential design.
The report also found that the Australia office furniture market is experiencing a shift towards sustainability as businesses increasingly prioritise eco-friendly materials and production methods.
With Australia generating 30,000 tonnes of commercial furniture waste annually, 95 per cent of which ends up in landfills, there is an increasing call for sustainable design, recycling initiatives, and circular economy models to reduce environmental impact and support responsible workplace solutions.
