News that the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games has been cancelled has been met with disappointment from many quarters, including office products resellers in the state’s regional communities.
Some of the OP sector’s strongest community-connected dealers were no doubt looking forward to the influx of investment and visitors.
Victoria’s Commonwealth Games Delivery Minister Jacinta Allan recently predicted that Victoria’s 2026 Com Games would contribute more than $3 billion to the state's economy.
Not surprisingly in hindsight, the most recent Victorian state budget, released in May, did not itemise any of the funding going towards the Games.
