Growing list of companies suspend operations in Russia

Business products suppliers show support for besieged Ukraine.
 
A growing number of global companies with connections to the business supplies market are suspending operations in Russia and Belarus in response to the conflict in Ukraine.
 
Paper manufacturer Mondi – which derives a significant amount of its profits from Russia – has said it is “assessing all options” for its interests in the country. Mondi said it does not provide its Syktyvkar mill (pictured) with any direct funding and that the facility is required by law to provide energy to the local population. 
 
Amazon has suspended shipments of retail products to customers located in Russia and Belarus. It will also no longer be accepting new Russia- and Belarus-based third-party sellers or AWS customers.
 
Avery’s parent company Toronto-based CCL Industries said it is suspending future financial support to its investment in Russia. CCL – via a UK holding company – holds a 50 per cent stake in CCL-Kontur, a label business headquartered near Moscow. CCL also said it had committed up to US$500,000 to the International Red Cross to support relief efforts in Ukraine.
 
The world’s largest technology distributor TD SYNNEX has suspended business in both countries, including shipments to entities and individuals. 
 
Meantime, Brother Industries said it will donate A$904,000  to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. The donation will be support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine and neighbouring countries
