Amazon seeking 1400 part-time workers

Tech giant gearing up for mid-year sales surge.

Amazon Australia has launched a recruitment drive to hire 1400 seasonal workers ahead of the mid-year sales period.

The online giant launched a big campaign last week to boost their workforce ahead of the end of financial year sales period in June and the Prime Day shopping event in July.

Hundreds of staff will be hired to work at Amazon fulfilment centres and logistics sites across Australia to pick, pack and ship orders from the warehouses to customers.

“We offer all kinds of jobs for all kinds of people and are focused on creating a safe and inclusive workplace for them,” Amazon Australia human relations operations director Jacqui Marker said.

“We provide on-the-job training so no previous experience or formal qualifications are required and Prime Day always promises to be an exciting time of year,” he said/.

Prime Day is Amazon’s annual shopping event offering discounts exclusively for members on a huge range of products.

Half of the 1400-strong workforce will be deployed at sites in NSW.
