Amazon Prime Day sale to attract three million shoppers

Big discounts attract online bargain hunters.
 
More than 100,000 items, including laptops and security cameras, are being heavily discounted in the Amazon Prime Day sale which runs 12-13 July.
 
Savings are available across most popular categories, including electronics,  homewares, video games, food and drink, toys, sports equipment and fashion, beauty.
 
Discounted big brands include Apple, Barbie, Bosch, Bose, Garmin, GHD, Instant Pot, Lego, Lenovo, North Face, Nintendo, Oculus and Samsung.
 
Arno Lenoir, director of Prime for Amazon Australia, said new deals would be going live throughout the 65-hour shopping event.
 
Comparison site Finder said more than three million Australians planned to shop the sale, based on a survey of 1000 internet users.
 
Younger Aussies aged 18-24 were the most likely to say they’d shop the sales (21 per cent) with men more likely overall planning to shop than women.
 
Local deals would run for 48 hours until 11:59pm on Wednesday (13 July), while deals from the UK and US would be available via the Amazon platform through the Amazon Global Store until 5pm Thursday, giving Aussie Prime members access to 65 hours of deals.
