Office Brands starts search for new head of procurement

Seek ad seeks replacement for Andrew Gilbert.
 
Dealer group Office Brands has received a strong number of applications for the position of head of procurement and merchandise, created by the impending departure of incumbent Andrew Gilbert.
 
Gilbert recently announced his intention to step down from the role to re-join a family business but will remain with the group until September.
 
OPN understands that the position has attracted around 40 applications to date, from inside and outside the OP industry.

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager, that has a track record in not only delivering good commercial outcomes, but identifying and leading strategic initiatives that drive enhanced business decision making. Leading a small team of 6, the role will set targets and measure benefits, and improve category management. The role will also be an integral part of the executive leadership team where you will love the fast pace with opportunity to make a difference for our members every single day
 
Responsibilities:
Strategy Development. Maintains and champions annual direct and indirect procurement plan, policies, procedures, and governance framework.
Commercial outcomes. Works collaboratively with the business to understand current and future procurement needs and develops robust sourcing strategies to control and minimise costs while ensuring the most cost-effective value adding contract is awarded without compromising quality
Champions data driven decision making, developing and leading the end to end procurement process for Office Brands.
Risk management. Reduces risk to the organisation through identification, assessment and analysis of commercial and supply chain risk via effective contract management.
Relationships. Develops and maintains key supplier relationships including monitoring against KPIs and SLAs to ensure value is delivered to Office Brands and our members consistent with contractual commitments.
Successfully motivates, coaches and manages all team members. Builds and facilitates effective relationships between internal and external stakeholders. Trusted advisor to the business in managing suppliers and cost.
 
About you:
Considerable experience (5 years) and proven track record leading procurement and category management.
Data governance and data driven decision making knowledge
Experience in supplier relationship, performance management and measurement
Knowledge of best practice procurement processes and framework
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills at all levels
Experience in Procurement for Independent business owners will be well regarded.
Commercial acumen, planning and project management skills
Strong people leadership and relationship management skills
Advanced Proficiency in MS Office Suite specifically Excel
Tertiary qualification in procurement and/or business management or similar (Desirable)
Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (Desirable)
Experience collaborating with or leading a marketing department will be well regarded.
Experience in products range optimisation and rationalisation
Experience in direct importing products to Australia
