Staedtler upcycles new pencil range

Pencil-maker sharpens its use of wood chips.
Staedtler has put a new twist on recycling by promoting its new range of ‘Upcycled’ pencils with a video.
The company manufactures upcycled wood pencils from wood chips produced in the wood processing industry.
This wood comes from PEFC-certified, predominantly German forests, which are managed in an “ecologically, economically and socially sustainable manner”.
More than a decade ago, Staedtler developed a process to use upcycling in the production of its pencils. Since then, in addition to classic wood-cased pencils made from wooden boards, it has also produced high-quality pencils made from wood chips.
