GNS distribution dreams buoyed by US deal

19 April 2018

GNS Wholesale Stationers remains committed to expanding its national distribution business with CEO Paul Yardley declaring that the group was still pursuing further acquisitions.

GNS, which recently opened a new warehouse in Melbourne, has expanded its distribution network in recent times with the acquisition of WA Stationery Supplies, Satex and V Wholesale.

Speaking at the company’s annual supplier awards function at Cafe del Mar in Sydney last week, Yardley said the recently-announced merger of the two biggest business products distributors in the US – Essendant and SP Richards – reflected a similar environment for consolidation in Australia.

Yardley said that GNS’s sales in the past year had increased by around three per cent, adding that like-for-like sales had also grown.

GNS Supplier of the Year

GNS’s supplier of the year award for 2017 was presented to 3M Australia with last year’s winner Avery named runner-up.

Rob Henderson from Educational Advantage was named GNS supplier account manager of the year for 2017. Runner-up was Klaus Brodeck from Bic Australia.
